DeGeer Gelbvieh started in 1987 with the the purchase of a set of Gelbvieh heifers from Joe Lewellen and a bull from Davidson Brothers. These were added to a commercial herd of primarily Simmental bred cows. Currently, we have a herd of about 100 head. We have concentrated on breeding functional cattle that will work for commercial cow herds. We produce both red and black Gelbvieh and Balancers using top AI Sires. Our cattle are sold primarily private treaty but we do participate in select consignment sales such as the KGA Pick of the Herd Sale.

Our ranch is located in southeast Kansas, between Chanute and Erie. We have been active in the Kansas Gelbvieh Association for many years and our daughters Melissa and Staci were active in the Kansas Gelbvieh Junior Association through their 4-H and FFA years. Staci just completed a term as AGJA Director and is currently in graduate school at K-State. Melissa and her husband Roger are stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, where he serves our country
in the Army and Melissa is a vet tech/business manager for an animal hospital.

Stop in and see us if you are in our area. We always like to talk Gelbvieh, KSU (we bleed PURPLE), or brag about our kids.
