Bar B Cattle was organized in 1985 when we bought our first Gelbvieh female from the Wilson herd dispersal. Most of our cows have been raised, but  we have purchased a few cows to insert different bloodlines.  I (Donita) has served on the Kansas Gelbvieh Association directors for 2 terms and helped run the spring Range Bull sale in Hays for 3 years.

Bar B Cattle is in a relocation process, as we have moved from the Tescott area to south of Osborne.  We still strive to raise the most functional cattle for our area.  The cattle are the same and are still summered in the Tescott area.  Our females are very functional and have to survive the tough Kansas range condition.  They are wintered on stalks and calved in small pastures.  We AI our cows to the bulls that will give us the best calf - both genetically and growth wise.  We then clean up with a son of Drew herd bull that we raised.  The calves are not creeprd and have to perform well to make the cut.  We sell only our top bulls - usually only a few bulls a year, mostly by private treaty sometimes in consignment sales.  We raise bulls that we would turn out on our cows.  Bar B Gelbvieh bulls are hand fed and all have a good disposition.  Heifers are sold through consignment sales, and private treaty.  Heifers are developed for the cowherd, but we do show a few.

We have sold the top selling heifer at the Kansas Beef expo, Kansas pick of herd sale, and had many class and division winners.  We had the winning and top selling bull at the Kansas Beef Expo.  We do not sell many, but when we sell, we only sell the best.

We have a spring and a fall herd which allows us to sell bulls in both the spring and fall by private treaty.  We have Reds and Blacks, Purebreds and Balancers.  Our Bulls are guaranteed and priced for the commercial cattleman.

Give us a call at 785-984-2228 and let us show you how Bar B Gelbiveh can help your cattle herd!
